The top team named team in the 6A Conference girls basketball coaches poll has bounced around all year.

This week Millennium jumps from No. 4 to No. 1 after knocking off region foe Valley Vista, 71-68, at home.

Gilbert drops to No. 2; Valley Vista is at No. 3 while Xavier has been in the top four all year long.

It’s going to make for an interesting February.

“The separation between the Top 4 is so small, any of those teams can beat each other on any given night,” one coach said.

Right now, Millennium is the top team.

“Valley Vista was looking unbeatable and Millennium did it,” another coach said.

Red Mountain dropped from eighth to 10, but remains the only Mesa school to garner any votes at al.
