The final 6A Conference coaches poll girls soccer rankings align with the AIA brackets.
Seven of the eight teams that earned an automatic bid into the playoffs are among the coaches top 10 with only Rincon missing out. The Rangers received votes but came up short of the top 10.
The biggest change was Basha as the Bears were unable to follow up on the big win over Perry on Jan. 11 that pushed them to No. 1 in the coaches poll last week.
Since that game, Basha went 0-2-1 to close out the regular season against ranked teams to drop to No. 5.
Perry moved to the top, Xavier moved to second and Pinnacle was third. The team that hasn’t received enough attention from the coaches is Hamilton, which tied and Basha and beat Perry (after the last vote) down the stretch, at No. 6.
The play-in games are Thursday with the postseason starting on Tuesday.
No local teams made received a vote from the coaches, but Mountain View and Red Mountain qualified for the play-in portion of the postseason.
