Dr. Mai-Ly Duong, DMD, MPH, assistant professor at A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, was recently honored by the American Dental Association (ADA) with the 10 Under 10 award. The award recognizes 10 new dentists who have made a significant impact on the field less than 10 years after graduating from dental school. Recipients demonstrate excellence in their work, as well as their commitment to the community and their ability to inspire others.

“I have been blessed to be surrounded by incredible people who supported my crazy ideas and joined in on the fun of implementing oral health initiatives,” said Duong. “I am thankful to my mentors for their passion, guidance, and strength.”

More than 200 dentists were nominated, shining a spotlight on the incredible contributions of new dentists. Another outstanding ATSU-ASDOH faculty member and alumna, Dr. Seena Patel, DMD, MPH, was among the nominees.

“I’m so honored to be nominated for this award,” Patel said. “I’m grateful to share this with so many incredible young dentists across the nation. It inspires me to continue to contribute in dental education, dental research, and patient care.”
