Small business owners looking for a better understanding about how to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, why being accessible makes good business sense and the chance to ask questions in a non-threatening environment can find the answers at a 90-minute workshop presented by Ability360, Arizona Center for Disability Law, Arizona Independent Living Council and Direct Center for Independence.
Two sessions of Get the Facts: Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance and Your Business are planned: 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sept. 20 at the Ability360 Conference Center, 5025 E. Washington St. in Phoenix. Registration fee is $25 and can be completed at https://adafacts.eventbrite.com.
“With all of the publicity recently generated by lawsuits filed against small businesses over non-compliance to the ADA, we felt it was important to provide business owners with the information they need in an environment that encourages open dialogue,” said Ability360 President and CEO Phil Pangrazio. “These 90-minute sessions are designed to be informational and conversational.”
Among the topics will be:
- How the Americans with Disabilities Act applies to your business.
- Steps to ensure a business is accessible and in ADA compliance.
- Community resources that can help along the way.
