Arizona Gives Day was April 4 and Lost Our Home Pet Rescue, a Tempe-based no-kill shelter serving the East Valley, is offering pet play dates to let employees play with puppies, dogs and kittens who are up for adoption. Companies can schedule any time during April or May. Any company (or group of coworkers) that makes at least a $200 donation is eligible for a pet play date.
“It’s a great way to let your employees enjoy a fun, team oriented, and engaging break during the day, and it’s our way of saying thank you for the donation,” said Jodi Polanski, executive director at the shelter.
Last year, over $2 million was raised for Arizona nonprofits.
“You should have seen the faces on our team members when your volunteers entered the office with those adorable puppies,” said Kristen Merrifield, CEO of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits. “We used the puppy break as a welcome distraction on Arizona Gives Day 2016 as our team was 15 hours in to our 24-hour work day that day. It was just what we needed, and I applaud Lost Our Home for being so innovative in showcasing the important work they are doing in our community.”
Volunteers can create their own fundraising page. Any volunteer who raises $300 or more will receive a $20 PetSmart gift card. The volunteer who raises the most funds will win a 48-inc Vizio Smart TV:
