A group of 34 clinical professionals from six local Banner Health medical centers gathered on Sept. 3 to prepare for a trip to Houston this week. They met at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert for a briefing in the afternoon, and the team left this morning from Sky Harbor to fly to Texas.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to support America’s No. 1 cancer center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, in its recovery following an unprecedented natural disaster. Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center is a partner member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network. Our collaboration during this time of need is built upon years of partnership, clinical integration and sharing of knowledge,” said Corey Schubert, public relations senior specialist for Banner Health.
“MD Anderson will return to normal outpatient services on Tuesday, Sept. 5; however, many of its staff have been affected personally by flooding and related damage,” Schubert said. “Our additional support will allow MD Anderson to maintain its consistent and exceptional care, while its affected staff are able to take care of their personal matters as well as themselves and their families.”
