Mesa District 4 Councilmember Chris Glover is sponsoring a shoe drive through June 2 to benefit Paz de Cristo Community Center.
“Each year, I support the Paz de Cristo shoe drive because of the important role they play in Mesa and the East Valley,” Glover said. “People take things like shoes for granted, but it is something that is desperately needed. Each year, city of Mesa employees and community members answer the call and donate to meet this need. I’m very grateful for those who donate and participate in this very worthy cause.”
Men’s tennis and dress shoes are needed. There are four drop-off locations in Mesa:
- Mesa City Plaza, 20 E. Main St.
- Mesa Fire Volunteer Center, 2830 E. Adobe Road.
- Mesa Transportation Center, 300 E. 6th
- Charles Luster Building, 640 N. Mesa Drive.
Paz de Cristo Community Center in Mesa serves evening meals 365 days a year to the homeless and working poor.
