Mesa District 4 Councilmember Chris Glover has been named chair of the Valley Metro Rail Board of Directors. Glover’s term as chair will begin on July 1 and last until July 1, 2018.
“The goal of Valley Metro Rail is to bring together more people with more destinations throughout the Valley,” Glover said. “The cooperation of all of our cities is imperative to achieve that goal. It is an honor to be the chair and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with my colleagues on the board as we work to maintain transparency in the planning, managing and operations of our Valley’s rail system.”
Valley Metro Rail oversees the design, construction and operation of the region’s 57-mile high-capacity transit system. The board establishes overall policies and provides general oversight of the agency and its responsibilities. Valley Metro Rail Board member agencies include Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Chandler.
