Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center will offer a free educational program “Genetic Counseling and Testing,” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the facility, located at 2946 E. Banner Gateway Drive in the Granite Mountain and Coyote Conference Rooms.
Certified genetic counselors Jennifer Siettmann and Rebecca Luiten will talk about how people can be tested for cancer genes, and how to prevent cancer using information from the test. The presentation is part of “Partners In Knowledge, News In Cancer,” also called “PIKNIC,” an informal educational forum designed to provide information about issues, needs, and concerns involving cancer. Light lunch will be provided. Registration is required and a light lunch will be provided to the first 25 registrants.
Banner MD Anderson also offers the East Valley Multiple Myeloma Education Group on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. at no cost for myeloma patients and survivors.
