Friend of the Week: Loving Penda is fun and outgoing

Penda. (Friends for Life Animal Rescue)

Penda is a domestic short-haired, female, calico cat about 2 years old. Volunteers at the adoption center say she is a “love.” Penda gets along well with other respectful cats. Once a shy, hesitant girl, she has now become more confident and outgoing. Her transformation has been wonderful to witness. Penda is very mild-mannered. She may need a little extra time to feel safe in her new home. She would do best in a slower-paced, predictable home. Nothing wrong with liking a routine right? It shouldn’t take her long until she feels safe and she shows her new adoptive family her silly and fun personality. She’ll make you laugh once you see all of the goofy positions in which she chooses to sleep. She loves to roll all around to show you how cute she can be so you’ll pet her. She enjoys getting affection and loves to shower you with love and purrs.

Penda’s adoption fee is $85. At Friends for Life Animal Rescue, all animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed, and cats are tested for FELV/FIV.

Special Note: Friends for Life’s current adoption center will be closed Feb. 15 and 16 to make a move. Friends for Life is leaving its well-used, little adoption center they’ve called home since 1996 and moving into a new facility at 952 W. Melody Ave. in Gilbert. The official new shelter opening date is Feb. 17 at the new location.

Tomorrow, Feb. 15, Friends for Life will be hosting an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. so everyone can tour the new facility.
