Mesa erased an early deficit by scoring 31 straight points on the way to a 37-29 win Friday over Dobson in East Valley Region action as Marcus Taylor had a huge night for the Jackrabbits.
Dobson took one of its few leads – 14-6 on an Issic Gomez touchdown catch – of the region schedule, but the Mesa onslaught took over to drop the Mustangs to 3-9 overall and 0-4 in region play.
Mesa (4-6, 2-2) was led by its passing game as Nate Hanna had four touchdown passes to Taylor while the defense pitched in with a pick 6.
Taylor finished with seven catches for 160 yards and also had a punt return for a touchdown to take over as the playmaker with running back Kris Taylor limited because of a hamstring injury.
