Movement in the latest 6A Conference Girls Soccer Coaches Poll was stagnant.

The top six teams stayed the same as the previous poll leading up to the winter break as Perry, Xavier and Pinnacle remained the top three with Desert Vista, Hamilton and Basha keeping pace as well.

It’s clear the coaches have a good feel for the top teams this season.

The AIA/MaxPreps rankings sync up well as Perry, Xavier, Basha, Pinnacle, Desert Vista and Hamilton make up the top six heading into Thursday’s action.

The Pumas are ranked No. 10 in the nation while Xavier, Basha and Desert Vista are all undefeated in power ranking games.

Perry picked up 10 of the 12 first-place votes, while Xavier snagged the other two.

“Perry is the clear-cut favorite, but there are some good teams this year,” one coach said. “Desert Vista played Perry tough and there are some other teams that can make a run.”

Locally, Desert Ridge fell out of the top 10 after coming in at No. 10 last week and lost twice this week.
