Healthbrary launches at Mesa Public Library

Many patrons have grown to love Stuffbrary found at Mesa Public Library. Now, Mesa Main Library is announcing the launch of Healthbrary. Similar to Stuffbrary, where library card holders could check out baking pans, croquet sets, and seeds from the Seed Library, Healthbrary will allow patrons to borrow heart-monitoring devices.

“We are always looking for creative ways to benefit the lives our patrons,” Mesa Library Director Heather Wolf said. “With Healthbrary, patrons can monitor their health on these devices and see if they like it prior to purchasing one. We anticipate Healthbrary to be as successful as Stuffbrary and hopefully expand to our other branches.”

Ten electronic monitoring cuffs and 10 FitBit Charge HR will be available for checkout at the Mesa Main Library, 64 E. First St.  Patrons must fill out a short survey prior to checkout. Instructions are included with each device and all Healthbrary items can be checked out for three weeks, with no renewals. A $1 late fee will accrue with each item that is overdue.

Healthbrary items were donated to the Mesa Public Library by the Mayo Clinic. For more information, contact Kate Griffin at 480-644-2725.
