More than 1,000 volunteers will help the Mesa community by participating in a variety of projects across the city this Saturday, Oct. 28, as part of National Make a Difference Day.
Residents, neighborhood groups, local businesses, service organizations, church groups and Mesa employees have registered to volunteer for an assortment of community projects. Examples include painting curb numbers to reduce emergency response time, painting walls, cleaning up illegal dumping, reporting graffiti, painting homes and doing yard work for residents in need.
National Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing day of helping others. Held annually on the fourth Saturday of October, millions of Americans are rallied into a single day of action to help change the world.
