Despite being one of the fastest-growing occupations in the country, demand for nurses is outpacing the supply. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics projections, by 2022 there will be more than 1 million jobs for registered nurses in the U.S. The existing nursing deficit in the U.S. — largely caused by the aging population, increasing prevalence of chronic disease, an aging workforce, and limited capacity in nursing education programs — might be creeping closer to a crisis.
RNs are invited to bring their families and network at a Nursing Career and Family Fair this Saturday, April 1, at the IASIS Healthcare Multi Specialty Clinic in downtown Phoenix, 230 S. Third St., from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The career fair will feature brunch and refreshments along with drawings and giveaways. The family-friendly event will also offer a sport court for kids, games and a special appearance by “Go,” the Phoenix Suns’ gorilla mascot.
