The Mesa Community College Athletic Department has launched a re-vamped T-Bird Athletic Booster Club.
With MCC’s outstanding success over the past two years, the club will help keep Thunderbird athletics in the forefront regionally and nationally. Mesa teams have won two NJCAA national championships and finished among the top 10 in the nation 12 times over those two years.
“The Booster Club gives fans a chance to assist in MCC’s on-going efforts by helping fund areas that cannot be adequately addressed in the operating budget such as team transportation and additional safety measures with equipment and facilities,” said Wayne Block, MCC Booster Club director. “The club’s support helps make the experience of competing for the T-Birds much more enjoyable for the student-athletes.”
The new T-Bird Athletic Booster Club will be an active organization designed to help raise funds for program needs not adequately covered in the budget and bring fans closer to the entire athletic program.
The club is structured as a functioning organization with a board of directors and will host periodic meetings which will include opportunities to meet with coaches, staff and athletes.
Gifts are tax deductible according to IRS regulations and will include benefits as outlined by the club.
Funds raised will go toward such areas as team transportation, safety measures with equipment and facilities as well as other operating expenses.
