From not being ranked to jumping all the way to No. 10 in the country is quite the leap. But that’s exactly what the Mesa Thunderbirds volleyball team did as they enter the national rankings for the first time this season.
Starting the season 7-0 is a good start to entering the national rankings. Defeating tough teams like Scottsdale and Chandler-Gilbert also help in entering the top 10.
For the T-Birds, this is their highest ranking in the NJCAA in recent memory. Last season, they topped out at No. 15.
“I’m just so proud of how hard these girls are working,” said head coach Megan Taylor, “they’re putting in the effort and are now seeing some results of that effort.”
