Mesa hospital to host free stroke check event for National Stroke Awareness Month

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, an observance designed to increase awareness of the signs of a stroke, as 80 percent of strokes are preventable. A simple, free stroke check can help to identify the risk factors for a stroke before you or a loved one experience a health crisis.

That’s why Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa is hosting a free stroke check event tomorrow, in partnership with the American Heart Association. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on May 9 at Mountain Vista Medical Center, 1301 S. Crismon Road in Mesa.

The public is invited to participate in this free stroke check event, which allow attendees to receive a free blood pressure check, cholesterol check, body mass index (BMI) check, and medication check.
