Over the holiday season, the Mesa Police Department (MPD) will be out conducting DUI enforcement.

The MPD traffic unit, as always, will continue its support of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety DUI Holiday Task Force beginning Nov. 23, running each weekend until Saturday, Dec. 17. On Dec. 23, the task force will run nine consecutive days, concluding on Saturday, Dec. 31.

The annual DUI Holiday Task Force is local police enforcement promoting a mission; remove impaired drivers off the roadway and create safer streets throughout the Valley. Additionally, reduce the number of vehicle collisions related to impaired driving; as well as decrease the number of injuries and fatalities associated with these collisions.

The Mesa Police Department encourages everyone to enjoy the holiday responsibly and designate a driver.

Report reckless, unsafe or suspected DUI driving to your local law enforcement.

The Police Department non–emergency line is 480-644-2211.
