The Mesa Police Department has identified the two homicide victims that Sgt. Diana Williams, spokesperson for the Mesa Police Department, said early this morning “are isolated and not related to one another.”
The victim of the first homicide that occurred in the area of 300 E. 8th Drive has been identified as 31-year-old Jorge Alcantar. Police responded to a possible shooting at around 8 p.m. last night. Police said: Upon arrival, they located two victims, an obviously deceased Alcantar and an injured 45-year-old adult female. The female was medically treated and released. The alleged adult male suspect was and still is outstanding. All parties are known to each other. Attempts to locate the suspect are actively being pursued.
The victim of the second homicide that occurred in the area of 1464 S. Stapley Drive early this morning has been identified as 20-year-old Cristian Camarena. At approximately 3:30 this morning police received a report about a possible assault. Police said: Upon arrival, they located the deceased Camarena. No suspect/s were located. Details about a possible suspect are being actively investigated.
