Veterans who are unemployed or underemployed are invited to a free workshop on Saturday, March 11 aimed at improving their career prospects. The Bridge to Employment program, conducted by Mesa United Way, will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Valley Veterans Education Center, 3320 S. Price Road in Tempe.

Space is limited so veterans are requested to make reservations by contacting Troy Baker: troy.baker@mesaunitedway.org or 480-834-2123.

Bridge to Employment is made possible by a grant from Boeing and includes a series of career-builder workshops for veterans throughout the year. Veterans also will be connected with mentors who will assist in job searches and in helping vets be successful on the job. Heal the Hero Foundation will also provide its services to up to three vets suffering from long-term effects of acute stress.
