Over the summer, Red Mountain High School hired a new band director, Jennifer Hamilton. She was originally working as the band director at Coconino High School in Flagstaff and received many rewards for her accomplishments, but she has her own goals for the Mesa high school.

“I hope to provide an encouraging, productive, thriving and well-rounded band program,” Hamilton said. “The goal is to get the band to the performance level where they can achieve recognition and rewards on individual and state levels.”

Being a new teacher on campus, the band director has grown accustomed to the program and plans to bring changes to the Red Mountain campus.

“One impact I would love to leave not only on performing arts students, but also on the campus, is the promotion of student accountability, pride and the reinforcement of a culture of excellence and success,” Hamilton said.
