Outdoor movies return to Mesa


Mesa’s free family movie series returns Saturday, Sept. 16, at Harmony Park for a screening of “Finding Dory.” In its third season, the Ride-In-Movies at the Park, hosted by the city of Mesa’s Bike and Pedestrian Program and SRP, provides a fun, family-friendly outdoor event for residents.

Traveling to a different park throughout the city, each monthly movie begins around sunset. Moviegoers are encouraged to walk or bike to the movie, remember your helmets and bike lights!  Arrive early for safety messages and activities for the kids.

The 2017-2018 movie lineup includes:

Sept. 16 Harmony Park 7 p.m. “Finding Dory”
Oct. 7 Mountain View Park 6:30 p.m. “Hocus Pocus”
Nov. 4 Escobedo park 6 p.m. “The LEGO Batman Movie”
Feb. 3, 2018 Red Mountain Park 6:30 p.m. “Despicable Me 3”
March 3, 2018 Palo Verde Park 7 p.m. “Smurfs Lost Village”
April 28, 2018 Skyline Park 7:30 p.m. “Cars 3”
May 5, 2018 Summit Park 7:45 p.m. “Emoji Movie”

Moviegoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics and enjoy complementary kettle corn provided by SRP. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
