Southwest Shakespeare Company performs ‘Sense and Sensibility’ at Mesa Arts Center

Mesa-based Southwest Shakespeare Company continues its tradition of introducing new and exciting ideas to its classical stage with the fast-paced adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility” beginning tonight, Feb. 16, at the Mesa Arts Center.

Inspired by Kate Hamill, Southwest Shakespeare Company’s version of “Sense and Sensibility” will play through March 10 in downtown Mesa.

“Director Patrick Walsh, (with Mesa Public Schools), has put together a freewheeling production that is sure to warm the hearts of any Jane Austen lover and convert the rest,” said Betsy Mugavero, spokesperson for Southwest Shakespeare Company in Mesa.

The complete schedule is:

Feb. 16 — 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 17 — 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 18 — 2 p.m.

Feb. 23 — 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 24 — 2 p.m.

Feb. 24 — 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 25 — 2 p.m.

March 1 — 7:30 p.m.

March 2 — 7:30 p.m.

March 3 — 2 p.m.

March 3 — 7:30 p.m.

March 4 — 2 p.m.

March 9 — 7:30 p.m.

March 10 — 2 p.m.

March 10 — 7:30 p.m.

All shows will be performed at the Mesa Arts Center Anita Farnsworth Studio, 1 E. Main St.
