Sprouts Farmers Market opened its 250th store, the third in Mesa, today to meet the local demand for natural and organic foods.
The 26,000-square-foot store is located at 2060 E. Baseline Road. People lined up for the 7 a.m. opening as the first 200 shoppers received 20 percent off their initial total purchase, free samples, coupon books, a free reusable bag with purchase, and more.
This Friday, Sept. 23, Sprouts will host a Women’s Health Talk with Natural Factors at noon. Snacks will be provided and all attendees will receive samples from Natural Factors.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, the first 200 customers to make a purchase will receive a coupon booklet for five free sandwiches. Upon checkout, every 15th customer will receive a coupon for a free Market Corner Coffee Bar Beverage.
Then on Sunday, Sept. 25, upon checkout, every 15th customer will receive a $5 coupon for a purchase of more than $15 the following week.
As part of Sprouts’ local Food Rescue Program, stores in the Mesa area donate unsold and edible but not marketable groceries to United Food Bank, who is in desperate need of food donations right now. The relief agency picks up excess or damaged fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste and distributes it to those in need. In 2015, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated approximately 14 million pounds of product to those in need, which is equivalent to 12 million meals. This reduces the impact of hunger as well as the company’s environmental footprint.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Sprouts employs more than 23,000 team members and operates more than 240 stores in 13 states from coast to coast. For more information, visit sprouts.com or @sproutsfm on Twitter.
